Safety Instructions:
This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code
by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the
hazards involved.
Risk of re or electrical shock with the following:
• TheElectricalratingoftheseproductsis100V-277VAC.Determineifthereis100V-277Vatthe
luminariesbeforeinstallation.
• Reectorkitinstallationrequiresknowledgeofelectricalsystemsforuorescentlightingluminaries.
Ifnotqualied,donotattemptinstallation.Contactaqualiedelectrician.
• Installthiskitonlyintheluminariesthathastheconstructionfeaturesanddimensionsshowninthe
photographsand/ordrawings.
• Topreventwiringdamageorabrasion,donotexposewiringtoedgesofsheetorothersharpobjects.
Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components
during kit installation.
The retrot assembly is accepted as a component of a uorescent recessed luminaire. The
suitability of the combination will be determined by CSA or authorities having jurisdiction.

• Hasbeenevaluatedforusewithceilingxturesandsuitableforuseintotallyenclosedrecessedxture.
Do not use with dimmers.
This device is not intended for use with emergency exits.

Addendum:
LUMATEQequipmentthatisdirectlyconnectedtoACmains(e.g.120/220/277VAC)canbedamagedbyshortcircuitandoverload
conditions.Inaddition,lightningsurgesorloadswitchingtransients(originatingoutsidethebulb)cancreatevoltagespikesorringwaves
thatcanstressandultimatelydamagecomponentsandrenderthextureinoperable.GiventhatthevaluepropositionforLEDbulbsis
notonlylowerenergyusage,butlongerlifetimes,itwillbecrucialthattransientvoltageprotectionistakenintoaccounttoeliminateeld
failuresdrivenbytheelectricalenvironment.
Ensurethefollowingstepsaretakentodecreasethechanceofdamagefromshortcircuitsandoverloadconditions:
1. Donotusemechanicaltimersorcontactorstoswitchonthelamp.Thesecontactsareknown
toproducevoltagespikeswhicharedetrimentaltothecircuitryofthelamp.
Itisrecommendedtouseasolidstaterelaytoprovidepowertothexture.
2. Replaceoldcircuitbreakers,ascorrodedcontactsonboththebusbarandinternalcontacts
ofthebreakercancausedestructiveelectricalspikes.
3. Useasurgeprotectiondevice(SPD)spanningbothLine,NeutralandGround.
ThesedevicescontainMOV’s(ametaloxidevaristor)whichcanhelpprotecttheLEDbulbfrom
overvoltagesurgesandring-waveeffectsbyclampingshort-durationvoltageimpulsesasshownindrawing.
